The Gospel

The Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God

When God created man, the Lord God gave him one commandment.

Genesis 2.16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:   17. But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Most people know that the man did eat of the fruit of the tree. (Not an apple, but the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil).

He did surely die.   However, physically, he lived on to the age of 930 years, which is within God's day as of 1000 years; but in the very day that he disobeyed the Lord God, he was immediately cut off spiritually from the Source of eternal life and truth, and lost his spiritual life, and his spiritual nature and understanding; was seperated from God and the kingdom of God, and became subject to the physical world and to his physical senses and worldly sensual wisdom and reason, and lost touch with his true spiritual nature, and became a fallen, natural, carnal man, subject to this world and in bondage to the god of this world: the devil, and sin; which is the breaking of God's commandments.

This is the state of all who have come short of the glory of God: all who have broken even one of His ten commandments (see study on 'the commandments').

Yes, God, in the time of Moses, gave ten commandments; and all people have broken at least one of them. All people became cut off from God and His holy nature, and became subject to the darkened misunderstanding of the sensual and devilish wisdom of this world.

Romans 3.23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

All, (except Jesus), have broken God's law and become guilty; or unrighteous. Unrighteousness is a legal term meaning 'Not legally right with God'.

Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:    11 There is none that understand, there is none that seeks after God.     12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

God's plan to rescue mankind from this fall was to offer the blood of His sinless, begotten Son Jesus as a legal, redeeming sacrifice for sin, for all who would believe and accept Him as their Redeemer, and would hope for the salvation of their souls through following and obeying Him as their Lord and Saviour (see study on 'How are we saved?' on this website).

Jn.3.16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.    17. For God sent not His Son into the world to condem the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.    18. He that believeth on Him is not condemmed: but he that believeth not is condemmed already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.       19. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.   20. For everyone that does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.         21. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest that they are wrought in God.

(Jesus is the only begotten son of God, the only son God has ever had by a woman; it is because He was a man, a sinless man, that He is the lawful sacrifice for mankind.)

Before the time of Jesus; from the time of Moses; the Lord God, Jehovah Elohiym of our fathers, the Elohiym of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, had made a way for the children of Israel to make atonement for their sins. They were to bring a bullock, or a ram, or a lamb or a goat of the first year, without spot or blemish, to the priests, who then killed the sacrifice and sprinkled the blood upon the altar as payment for sins.  Also once each year the high priest would sprinkle the blood of the sacrifice upon the mercy seat on the ark of the covenant, to make atonement for all the people for that year.

Hebrews 9:19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people.    20 Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God has enjoined unto you.    21 Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.     22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood: and without the shedding of blood is no remission.    23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these.    24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:    25 Nor yet that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest entered into the holy place every year with blood of others;    26 For then must He often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath He appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.    27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement:    28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time unto salvation.

Earthly, priestly sacrifices could not make the people perfect. But we are to be perfected through a better and more perfect sacrifice; the sinless body and blood of the only begotten Son of God, Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 10.1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.    2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshipers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.    3 But in those sacrifices there is a rememberance again made of sins every year.    4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.    5 Wherefore when He comes into the world, He says, Sacrifice and offering Thou wouldst not, but a body hast Thou prepared Me;    6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin Thou hast had no pleasure.    7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of Me,) to do Thy will O God.    8 Above when He said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offerings for sin Thou wouldst not, neither had pleasure therin; which are offered by the law;    9 Then said He, Lo, I come to do Thy will, O God. He takes away the first, that He may establish the second.   10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Christ once for all.

Psalm 40.6 Sacrifice and offering Thou didst not desire; Mine ears hast Thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast Thou not required.    7 Then said I,Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of Me,    8 I delight to do Thy will, O My God: yea Thy law is within My heart.

This is why Jesus is called the Lamb of God: because, on the cross where He died, His sinless blood was shed to make atonement for all sin, for all people, for all time; and so open the way for mankind to return unto the Father in righteousness

His loving selfless sacrifice is forever marked throughout the annals of eternity, with a cross, never to be forgotten.

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;    24 Being justified freely by his grace, through the redeemption that is in Christ Jesus:         25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;    26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

Thank You Lord Jesus.

Thank You Heavenly Father.

Mark 1.1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.    2 As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send My messenger before Thy face, which shall prepare Thy way before Thee.    3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make His paths straight.    4 John did baptize  in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.    5 And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized  of him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.    6 And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and did eat locusts and wild honey;    7 And preached, saying, There comes One mightier than I after me, the latchet of Whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.   8 I indeed baptize you with water: but He shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit.     9 And it came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Gllilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.    10 And stratghtway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened and the Spirit like a dove descending upon Him:    11 And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art My beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased.

Mark 15.22 And they bring Him unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, The place of a skull.    23 And when they had crucified Him, they parted His garments, casting lots for them, what every man should take.    24 And it was the third hour, and they crucified Him.    25 And the superscription of His accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS.    26 And with Him they crucified two thieves; the one on His right hand, and the other on His left.    28 And the scripture was fulfilled, which said, And He was numbered with the transgressors.    29 And they that passed by railed on Him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days,   30 Save thyself, and come down from the cross.    31 Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; Himself He cannot save.    32 Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with Him reviled Him.    34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?   35 And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold He calls Elias.    36 And one ran and filled a sponge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave Him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come and take Him down.     37 And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the Spirit.    38 And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from top to the bottom.

Jesus' body was taken from the cross and laid in a tomb which was then sealed.

Mt.28.1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdaline and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.   2. And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.   3. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:   4. And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.   5. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.   6. He is not here: for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.   7. And go quickly, and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead; behold, He goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see Him: lo, I have told you.

Jesus' redeeming blood has paid for, has atoned for, all the sins of all people for all time; and forgiveness of sin is offered to all who will avail themselves of it. All who will believe it, all who will receive it, all who will repent and turn back to God, rest in, and trust in, and love and follow Him.

Jesus has broken the power of death for all who will follow Him.

He has opened the door unto eternal life for His followers.

This story is not for the natural mind of man; but if you feel in your heart that it is a true story, that Jesus really did die as a sacrifice for our sins, and rose again from the dead, then that is God drawing you to Himself. If you realize that you have broken any of God's commandments; if you sincerely want to be made legally right with God (righteous); if you hope to avoid being seperated from the Creator forever, then talk to Jesus. His Holy Spirit is right there with you, He loves us and wants us to get to know Him.  Thank Him for dying for your sins and for paying for them with His blood. Invite Him into your heart and life.  Start a personal relationship with Him; between Him and you: ask Him to help you to be baptized as He was, and to help you to follow Him. Not religeon, but a friendship with God.  Wow!!!  Don't judge Him by what you assume  you know about Him. Get hold of a King James bible and read what Jesus said and did.   Find out what the Apostles have written about Him.   Get baptized in the name of Jesus Christ the Lord (the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit); [see study on 'the Doctrine of Baptisms' in First Principles']; you will receive His Holy Spirit. If you then follow Him and live in Spirit and in Truth, you'll be blessed; forever.

Forever!

Not only has He paid for our sins with His own blood, but He was wounded for our transgressions and wrong doings; He was bruised for our iniquities and wickednesses; He was chastised that we might have peace; He became a curse so that all curses are lifted form off our lives; and with His stripes and beatings, we are healed from all manner of sickness and disease.

For He has said, I will never leave thee nor forsake thee, so that we may boldly say, "the Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me".

Hallelujah!

Repent, the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Read the studies on 'First Principles', and 'Entering into His Rest', on this web site.

Understand that there is a penalty for all who reject the loving sacrifice of Jesus; God is to be feared for this reason. (see study on:'Eternal Judgement' in 'First Principles', and 'Fear of the Lord').

Fear God, give glory to Him, and worship Him.

What a wonderful privelige to be enabled to get to know the Creator as our Father.

Thank You Father.

Thank You Lord Jesus.

To God be the glory!

Forever and ever,

Amen! Amen?
