When the Lord descended in a cloud, and stood with Moses upon mount Sinai, He proclaimed the name of the Lord.

Exodus 34.6 And the Lord passed before him, and proclaimed, The Lord (Jehovah), The Lord God  (Jehovah Elohiym), merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,    7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and fourth generation.

Moses spoke the words of God in a song:

Deuteronomy 32.1 Give ear, O you heavens, and I will speak; hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.    2 My doctrine shall drop as the rain, My speach shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, as the showers upon the grass:

Moses spoke of God:

3 Because I will publish the name of the Lord: ascribe you greatness unto our God.    4 He is the Rock, His work is perfect: for all His ways are judgement: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is He.

Elijah prayed for the dead son of the widow of Zarephath, and the Lord had revived him to life.

1Kings 17.24 And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that you are a man of God, and that the Word of the Lord in your mouth is truth.

When all the chief priests and elders of the people of Israel took council against Jesus to put Him to death; they bound Him, and led Him away, and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate the Roman govenor.  Pilate asked Jesus, are You the king of the Jews ?

John 18.36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if My kingdom were of this world, then would My servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is My kingdom not from here.    37 Pilate therefore said unto Him, Are You a king then ? Jesus answered, You say that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth hears My voice. 38a Pilate said unto Him, What is truth ?

When (doubting) Thomas said to Jesus, Lord, we know not where You go; and how can we know the way

John 14.6 Jesus said unto him, I am the Way, I am the truth, and I am the life: no one comes to the Father, but by Me.

John 1.17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

Jonh 17.17 Sanctify them through Your truth: Your Word is truth.

The Lord God is abundant in truth.

He is a God of truth.

Jesus said that He is the truth.

The Word of God is truth.

Jesus is the Word of God in the flesh.

John 1.1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God.   3 All things were made by Him; and without HIm was not anything made that was made.   4 In Him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

9 That was the true Light, which lights every man that comes into the world.    10 He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not.    11 But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name:    12 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.    13  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Hebrews 13.8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Psalm 100.5 For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endures to all generations.

Psalm 119.89 Forever, O Lord, Your Word is settled in heaven.

The truth is absolutely and ever and forever true.

The truth never changes.

The truth is true forever.

1John 2.21b no lie is of the truth.

The truth, then is holy, wholly true and pure, and is not contaminated by any lie.

Something that is 99.9% true is not truth.

The truth is 100% true always and forever.

Ps.119:140 Thy word is very pure: therefor thy servant loveth it.

Ps.12:6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.    7 Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, Thou shalt preserve them from this generation forever.

Hallelujah !!!

Woe!

How is it come to pass that now, man has thousands of different versions of the Bible: all different, many divisive and deceptive; when the Lord Himself has kept His very pure Words, and has preserved them from that generation forever?

Most Believers may not have access to the manuscripts from which Bibles were translated since the ages of the earyl church untill the late 19th Centuary, and the manuscripts from which all new age Bibles have been translated during the past 150 years: But we still have access to some of those Bibles and can compare them ourselves; if we believe that the Word of God is very pure: and therefore, as His servants, love it: we will take some time, in these days of Apostasy, to compare them, and see for ourselves. (See Study on, 'Different Bibles'.)

The People of God will recognise the Truth.

Our very salvation depends upon us believing the Truth. (Not believing false doctrine).

2Thess.2:13b because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief (Gk. Pistis; assurance, faith) in the truth.

It is essential that God's people know the Truth , and not be decieved by false doctrine.

 The Holy Spirit of God is the Spirit of Truth. 

John 14.16 and I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abibe with you forever;    17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it sees Him not, neither knows Him; but you know Him; for He dwells with you, and shall be in you.

John 15.26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceeds from the Father, He shall testify of Me:

John 16.13 Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will show you things to come.

The truth is revealed by the holy Spirit of God, to those who live (or try from honest hearts to live) according to His Word.

John 8.31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on Him, If you continue (Gk: Meno: to stay; abide, dwell, remain, endure, stand, walk, live) in My Word, then are ye My disciples indeed;       32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

The truth cannot be known to those who study the Word of God with the intellect, or natural understanding.

1Corinthians 2.7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the world unto our glory;    8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.    9 But as it is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things that God has prepared for them that love Him.    10 But God has revealed them unto us by His Spirit: for the spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.    12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God:    13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.    14 But the natural man receives not the things of the spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Truth makes us free from the darkness of man's natural, sensual worldly wisdom, and knowledge; and brings us into the Light of Godly wisdom, knowledge and understanding.

 It is truth that the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Phlippians 4.5 Let your moderation be known to all people. The Lord is at hand.

Hebrews 13.5 Let your conversation be without covetness; and be content with such things as you have: For He has said, I will never leave you, nor forsake you.

The Lord is with us, and if the Lord is with us, then the kingdom of God is with us.

Matthew 3.1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judea,             2 And saying, Repent you: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Matthew 4.17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

 

To walk in the truth, is to live in spiritually resurrected life,

to walk in the Light, constantly aware of the presence of God and His kingdom.

To walk in unawareness of this truth, is to walk in darkness.

1Jn.1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:    7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

1Jn.1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you; that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truely our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

 

If we trust in the Lord with all of our heart, and lean not unto our own understanding; acknowledging that He is with us in all of our ways, He shall direct our paths.

When our mind is resting in the Lord (see study on 'Resting in the Lord'), and our heart is upon the Lord; trusting in the Lord to lead us, we are walking in the light of truth, and in the Spirit, and will be renewed in the spirit of our minds, and have the mind of Christ manifested in us as our guide: but when we forget that God is with us, and we follow our own mind, we are walking in darkness.

Isaiah 26.2 Open the gates, that the righteous nation which keeps the truth may enter in.         3 You will keep them in prefect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because they trust in You:  4 Trust in the Lord forever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength.

2Thessalonians 2.13 But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God has from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit, and belief of the truth:

 

Jn.4.23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him.        24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.

The Truth is; the Lord is with us, (for He never leaves us), and when we are baptized, it is His life that is in us; and when we are aware of His presence, we are with Him in Spirit; and in truth.

 

In Spirit and in Truth:

When we are baptized, it is truth that our body is dead and buried with Him, and we are raised in the likeness of His resurrection, and should walk in newness of life. 

But,

Unlike the Lord Jesus, who, after His baptism, defeated the Devil in all areas of sin, many of us, who should walk in newness of life, do not. Thereafter, we must labour, through the work of faith, to die to our life in the world, to deny self, to mortify the things of the flesh, and to live the resurrected life in the spirit, and in the truth.

 It is our spirit that is born again and cannot sin; our bodies are not born again.

Therefore;

 Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit.    2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.      3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:   4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit.    5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the spirit the things of the spirit.    6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.    7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.    8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.    9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit,  if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man hath not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.    10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.    11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dewlleth in you.    12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.    13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.    14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 

To be led by the Spirit of God we must trust in the Lord with all of our heart, not lean on our own understanding , acknowledging that He is with us in all of our  ways, and let Him lead us in all of our paths.

While it is true that if Christ be in us, the body is dead because of sin;

But,

We must mortify, or kill the deeds of the body, and live not after the flesh but live in the Spirit, to have that truth manifest in us.

It is of utmost importance that we understand, and take into consideration,  both  edges of the sword of the Lord, and not make doctrine from one edge only. 

 

The word of the Lord will manifest in us, if we do it in truth.

It will not happen if we just believe it, or confess it, or pray for it, or think that we are doing it; it will only happen when we actually do it, in truth.

When we are constantly, perpetually aware of, and acknowledge the presence of the Holy Spirit, and of the life of Christ in us, in all of our ways; when we are resting in, abiding in, remaining in, the Vine, then we are living in Spirit and in Truth, then we are led by the Spirit of God.

Labour to enter into, and remain, or rest in His presence, in Spirit and in Truth.

 

Receive the love of the Truth: Love God.

Live in the presence of the Holy Spirit of God.

 

1John1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truely our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

1John1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth.

 

John 15:13 Greater love hath no man but this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.    14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

 If ye do whatsoever I command you. 

Mark 12: And thou shalt love the Lord your God with all thy heart, and with all thy  soul, and with all thy mind, and  with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.    13a And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

John 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one  another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

We must not deceive ourselves into believing that we are obeying these commandments if we are not doing them in Spirit and in Truth.

Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Fear God; 

Love God;

Obey God;

Become the children of God,

in Spirit and in Truth.
