Before the Lord God created this earth and universe; before He created man; He knew
which of us would come to Him, in this life, and become His children
Ro.8.28 And we know that all things
work together for good to them that love God, to
them who are the called according to His purpose. 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also
did predestinate to be conformed to the image of
his Son, that he might be the firstborne among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did
predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
Ro.9.21 Hath not
the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour ? 22 What if God, willing to show his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted
to destruction: 23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had afore prepared unto glory.
24 Even us, whom he has called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles ? 25 As he said also in Osee (Hosea 2.23), I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved. 26 And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, You are not my people: there shall they be
called the children of the living God.(Hosea 1.4-11).
Eph.1.3
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: 4 According as he has chosen us
in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy
and without blame before him in love.
5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children
by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will. 6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein
he has made us accepted in the beloved. 7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins,
according to the riches of his grace; 8 Wherein he has abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; 9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he has purposed inh Himself.
10 That in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: 11 In whom we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of hHim who works all things after the council of his own will: 12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
1Pet.1.2 Elect
according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification
of the Spirit, unto obedience and the sprinkling of the blood of Jesus
Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy has begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance
incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fades not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
The Lord God knew
our spirits before He created this world. Our souls may have been in existence, (in unknown form or fashion), being prepared
by Him for this life.
God's purpose for us in this life, is reconciliation with Himself: through
our falling from His grace and presence, through sin, the breaking of His commandments; becoming as gods, through a knowledge of good and evil; and then being redeemed by the precious sacrifice of the life and blood of Jesus Christ, the
Lamb, and Son of God; then our being conformed
unto the image of His Son and saved through love,
grace and faith: being given the free gift of righteousness,
and justifification, and sanctification of the Spirit unto the obedience
of living, saving faith in the Truth, the Living Word of God.
Forever loving and trusting in Him, in all of our ways, as His adopted
children.
This will not happen without our love for Him.
(see study on 'How are we saved?')
It is the destiny of some, in this life, to learn to do the will of God, to choose good and eschew evil, and to be conformed
to the image of His Son.
Reconciliation with God, and eternal life as His children; through the redemption and
salvation of our souls, by Jesus Christ His Son; is the true purpose of this life.
Don't waste it.
The Lord
Jesus Christ has said, in John14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by Me".
Follow Me.
Live in the presence of the Holy Spirit of God, which God has sent into our hearts.
Fellowshipping with God the Father, and Jesus Christ His Son.
