First mention:
Gen.38.27 And it came to pass in the time of her travail, that, behold, twins were in her womb.
28 And it came to pass, when she travailed, that the one put forth his hand: and the midwife took and bound upon his hand a scarlet thread, saying, This came out first.
29 And it came to pass, as he drew back his hand, that, behold, his brother came out: and she said, How hast thou broken forth ? this breach be upon thee: therefore his name was called Pharez. 30 And afterward came out his brother, that had the
scarlet thread upon his hand: and His name was called Zarah.
Zarah: a rising of light.
Pharez: a breach; a breaking forth.
Ps.48.1 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness. 2 Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.
3 God is known in her palaces for a refuge. 4 For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together. 5 They saw it, and so they marvelled; they were troubled, and hasted away. 6 Fear took hold upon
them there, and pain, as of a woman in travail. 7 Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind. 8 As we have heard, so have we seen in
the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it forever. Selah.
Is.13.1 The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz did see. 2 Lift ye up the
banner upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles. 3 I have commanded my sanctified ones, I have also called my mighty ones for mine anger, even them that rejoice in my
highness. 4 The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the
Lord of hosts mustereth the host to the battle. 5 They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the Lord, and the weapons
of his indignation, to destroy the whole land. 6 Howl ye; for the day of the Lord is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty. 7 Therefore
shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt: 8 And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth:
they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames. 9 Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and
he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it. 10 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. 11 And I will punish the world for
their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible. 12 I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.
13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the
Lord of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.
Is.21.2 A grevious vison is declared unto me; the treacherous dealer
dealeth treacherously, and the spoiler spoileth. Go up, O Elam: besiege, O Media; all the sighing thereof have I made to cease. 3 Therefore are my loins filled with pain: pangs have taken hold upon me, as the pangs of a woman that trevaileth: I was bowed down at the hearing of it; I was dismayed at the seeing of it.
9 And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen.
And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground. 10 O my threshing, and the corn of my floor: that
which I have heard of the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, have I declared unto you.
Is.66.5 Hear the word of the Lord , you that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out
for my name's sake, said, Let the Lord be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed. 6 A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the Lord
that rendereth recompense to his enemies. 7 Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered
of a man child. 8 Who has heard such a thing ? who has seen such things ? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day ? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.
9 Shall I bring to birth, and not cause to bring forth ? saith the Lord: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut up the womb ? saith thy God. 10 Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that
love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her: 11 That ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory. 12 For thus saith the
Lord, Behold I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees. 13 As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort
you; and you shall be comforted in Jerusalem. 14 And when you see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall florish like an herb: and the hand of the Lord shall be known toward his servants, and his indignation toward his enemies.
15 For, behold, the Lord will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire. 16 For by fire and by his sword will the Lord plead with all flesh: and the slain of the Lord shall be many.
18 For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.
Jer.30.4 And these are the words that the Lord spoke concerning Israel and concerning Judah. 5 For thus saith the Lord, We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace.
6 Ask ye now, and see whether a man doeth travail with child ? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness ?
7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: It is even the time of Jacob's trouble;
but he shall be saved out of it. 8 For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and
will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him: 9 But they shall serve the Lord their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them. 10 Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the
Lord; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid. 11 For I am with thee, saith the
Lord, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet I will not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in
measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.
16 Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured; and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go
into captivity; and they that spoil thee shall be a spoil, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey. 17 For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord; because they called thee an Outcast,
saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after. 18 Thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have mercy on his dwelling places; and the city shall be built upon her own heap, and the palaces shall
remain after the manner thereof. 19 And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.
20 Their children also shall be as aforetime, and their congregation shall be established before me, and I will punish all that oppress them. 21 And their nobles shall be of themselves, and their govenor shall proceed from the midst of them;
and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach unto me: for who is this that engaged his heart to approach unto me ? saith the Lord. 22 And you shall
be my people, and I will be your God. 23 Behold, the whirlwind of the Lord goeth forth with fury, a continuing whirlwind: it shall fall with pain upon the head of the
wicked. 24 The fierce anger of the Lord shall not return, until he have done it, and until he have preformed the intents of his heart: in the latter days you shall consider it.
Jer.49.24 Damascus is waxed feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear has seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as
a woman in travail.
26 Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the Lord of hosts.
Jer.50.41 Behold, a people shall come from the
north, and a great nation, and many kings shall he raise up from the coasts of the earth. 42
They shall hold the bow and the lance: they are cruel, and will not show mercy: their voice shall roar like the sea, and they shall ride upon horses, everyone put in array, like a man to the battle, against thee, O
daughter of Babylon. 43 The king of Babylon hath heard the report of them, and his hands waxed feeble: anguish took hold on him, and pangs as of a woman in travail.
46 At the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth is moved, and the cry is heard among the nations.
Mic.4.1 But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall
flow into it. 2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob: and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion,
and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. 3 And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against
nation, neither shall they learn war any more. 4 But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the Lord of hosts has spoken it. 5 For all people will
walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the Lord our God for ever. 6 In that day, saith the Lord, will I assemble her that halteth, and I will
gather her that is driven out, and her that I have afflicted; 7 And I will make her that halted a remnant, and her that was cast far off a strong nation: and the Lord shall reign over them in mount Zion from henceforth and even forever.
8 And thou, O tower of the flock, the strong hold of the daughter of Zion, unto thee shall it come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the daughter
of Jerusalem. 9 Now why dost thou cry out aloud ? is there no king in thee ? is thy counsellor perished ? for pangs have taken thee as a woman in travail. 10 Be in pain and labour to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go
even to Babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there the Lord shall redeem thee from the hand of thy enemies. 11 Now also many nations are gathered against thee, that say, Let her be defiled, and let our eye look upon Zion. 12 But
they know not the thoughts of the Lord, neither understand they his council: for he shall gather them as the sheaves into the floor. 13 Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion: for I will make thine horn iron, and I will make thy hoofs brass: and
thou shall beat in pieces many people: and I will consecrate their gain unto the Lord, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth.
Mic.5.1 Now gather thyself
in troops, O daughter of troops: he has laid seige against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek. 2 But you, Bethlehem Ephratah, though you be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out ot thee shall he come
forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. 3 Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which trevaileth hath brought
forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel. 4 And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the Lord, in
the majesty of the name of the Lord his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth.
Is.42 13 The Lord shall go forth as a
mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea roar; he shall previal against his enemies. 14 I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: now
will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once. 15 I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up the pools.
16 And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.
1Thess.5.1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I write unto you. 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the
day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then
sudden destruction cometh upon them as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4
But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 5 You are all the children of light, and the children
of the day: we are not of the night nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others: but let us watch and be sober. 7 For they that sleep sleep in the night: and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 9 For God has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ. 10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with
him. 11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also you do.
Rev.12.1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a
woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: 2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
Mt.19.28 And Jesus said unto them,Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when
the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or
lands, for my sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
Regeneration;

Let us pray that we will be among those to whom the meaning of all this will be revealed: in Christ Jesus, our Redeemer and our Healer
and Deliverer, our Lord and our hope of salvation, our fortress and strong tower, our Friend and our Brother, our High Priest, and King, forever. Amen.
